I admit that I am a bit of a skincare and make-up junkie! Now that I am in my mid-thirties, I take my skincare more seriously. Trolling the aisles of my favorite local drugstores or Sephora looking at new beauty and makeup trends. I mostly steer towards drugstore brands due to the more reasonable prices (let’s be honest). However, every once in while I do splurge just a bit. I decided to share with you some of my favorite skincare and beauty faves for the month. Since I am keeping it candid, I do get to try a few of the brands via my beauty subscription boxes. I do have a few faves, and I will spill the tea in an upcoming post. :o)
Shea Moisture Peace Rose Oil Complex Sensitive Skin Cleansing Oil
Shea Moisture has always been one of my favorite skincare brands. I suffer from Eczema and during the summer months, flare-ups are constant and uncomfortable. A fellow blogger suggested that I try this due to an Eczema outbreak that occurred on my face. This cleaning soil is absolutely brilliant. It was gentle on my skin and I didn’t experience any burning on dryness. It removed all my makeup and my skin felt smooth, soft and most importantly hydrated. I recommend this product to anyone who has skin sensitivities.
Summer is extremely hot and humid in New York. Heavy make-up is not advised. I was searching for a lightweight foundation like cream that I can use on the weekends while running errands, going to brunch and shopping. I heard some great things about Black Radiance and I decided to give it a shot. This BB Cream is great. It offers light foundation like coverage, lightweight and perfect for the summer months. The smell is a little “paint like” for my taste, but it dissipates upon application. It blends easily with the use of your fingers, blending sponge or brush. I would advise setting this cream with a setting spray for longevity.
Mint Pear Vitamin C/ Collagen Serum
I came across this brand in one of my beauty box subscriptions and I was really excited to try it. Before using this product, I have never used a serum before. I believed I didn’t need it, and I have since changed my mind. I’ve used this serum for the past month and I can certainly see the difference in my skin tone. In addition, the dark circles under my eyes are lighter than before. I apply this serum at night. It’s lightweight and potent. Truly a skincare fave!
Aveeno Positively Radiant Intensive Night Cream
I am an avid customer of Aveeno Products. I have used their body washes, face washes, creams, etc. When I saw that they had a night cream, I didn’t hesitate to purchase it and I am glad I did. This is the first night cream that I ever used and purchased. I purchased this cream when I decided to step up my skincare game. Intensive? Is not the word! This cream is thick, non-greasy, pleasant smelling and it absorbs into my skin super quickly. A little goes a long way so you won’t need much. It’s great for people with sensitive skin like me. My skin is soft to the touch and hydrated all night.
Smashbox Studio Skin 24hr Concealer
I absolutely love this concealer. I mentioned that I have dark pigmentation under my eyes and when I use this concealer you would NEVER know it. Smashbox is an amazing brand and their products are bae. A little bit on the pricey side, but well worth the money. I dab this concealer under my eyes (obviously), on my forehead, nose, cupids bow and chin. I love the consistency and it blends well using a beauty blender.
Beauty Tip: Let your concealer dry for a few minutes and then blend in to increase coverage. You’re welcome. :o)
There you have it. My beauty and skincare faves for the month. What are your favorite products? What would you suggest I try next? Let me know!

So true it’s way to hot for a full foundation routine. Serums or gel like moisturizer are so refreshing! I use the h2O brand…. love it!
