Happy Easter! Today is a little unorthodox being Easter and April Fools Day. Today I decided to forgo tradition and not attend church service and cook a huge an Easter feast. I needed to be still. It has been a long time since I have written a post. Work responsibilities, especially preparing for tax season has taken first priority. Curvy Intuition has always been my creative outlet. Writing is therapeutic and provides freedom. My life as a 30+ woman living, working and existing in New York is pretty structured. What I discovered during my hiatus is that I need to incorporate my therapy into my life. I need to create a work/ life balance which is something that is very difficult. Even more difficult to admit.
At the beginning of each month, my first post would normally be about goals. I want to continue this important tradition. This is my way of holding myself accountable. Some of the goals that I have set forth are attained; others are not and I accept that. However, it is important for me to know where I am going and monitor the progress of this blog. Bear with me. I have become so detached since the beginning of the year and have spent most of my day’s knee deep in tax returns and other financial obligations. I love my job and I love being an accountant, but just between us… One of my biggest dreams is to be self-employed. I have spent most of my life in a financial position furthering the goals and fattening the pockets of my employers. Only through focus, hard work, ambition, blood, sweat and ultimately tears can I finally make it a reality.
- Blog Consistently. I have created a schedule for blog posts. A schedule that easily fits in with my lifestyle. I will be uploading new posts on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Considering that this blog consists of everything related to the life and style, expect to see more fashion, age appropriate related posts, along with my other obsessions such as beauty, make-up, skincare and of course shoes!
- This month I would like to post at least (4) outfits per month. These posts will range from casual looks (my fave) to office-appropriate attire.
- Beginning May 1st Curvy Intuition will have a weekly newsletter. It will consist of a culmination of my weekly posts, giveaways, and exclusive content. Perhaps a few surprises too. This is long overdue. Considering your busy life, what better way to keep in touch?
- One of my obsessions is the written word. I love books and I love to read. I’ve strayed away from that love due to time and I have decided to incorporate reading into my nightly routine. Even if its just a chapter or two. Reading provides a way of escape. I joined a book of the month club, which I ultimately had to cancel since I had little interest in the selections. Post about that coming soon.
- This goal is not necessarily a blog goal, but a goal nonetheless. It is exercise, walk, do yoga, something that allows my body to move. I can’t even tell you the last time I was in the gym. Honestly, I uber to work and sometimes do the same coming home and I have a desk job which doesn’t warrant much movement. I am no longer in my 20’s and my body doesn’t bounce back like it used to.
What are your goals for this month? Oh, feel free to suggest books that I should read too!
