At the end of 2017, I started taking my beauty & skincare regimen more seriously. I have made changes in my diets such as increasing my water intake and incorporating fruits and vegetables. I am a frequent Sephora shopper! Many of my lunch hours are spent looking at the latest foundations, eyeshadow palettes, and skincare products. Securing the free samples, trying new products that I wouldn’t ordinarily try. Sephora is known to carry only the best products in beauty and skincare. Some products with a hefty price tag. I would love to spend copious amounts of cash purchasing the latest and greatest. However, I have to stay within a budget that I have set for myself. Like most conscientious shoppers, I would prefer to purchase items on sale. When the word “sale” was introduced via my Beauty Insider email notification I was elated!
Maintaining the Skin I’m in with Cyantific Skincare
Before I entered my third decade I never gave much thought to skincare. I had pretty good skin, with no obvious signs of aging. I owed it all to my amazing lineage. My grandmother (may she rest in peace) passed at the age of 91 and she didn’t look a day older than 70. She had a famous saying that I recall to this very day. “Prevention is better than cure.” and you know what? She was right. I decided to take my skincare more seriously. As an avid reader of beauty blogs along with my own research, I discovered that proper skin care is of the most importance. The market is flooded with different facial cleansers, toners, creams (night and day), serums, etc. The selection is overwhelming. So, which one do I choose and more importantly which one would be best for skin type?
Rumor Has It! Too Faced Cosmetics Collaboration with Jackie Aina
Hello, Beauties! Its been a long road, but it is great to see that beauty brands are making major changes. They are finally adding new darker shades to their cosmetic lines. Being a woman with darker skin tone, I have been fortunate enough to find a few brands that have my shade readily available. However, I want to have more options. It becomes frustrating when you run out of foundation at the last moment, have to run to the store only to find that your shade is not available. Has that happened to you?
Secret Beauty Event Featuring SPACENY Apothecary London!
Before I started Curvy Intuition and even now after its launch I would read the Style & Beauty Doctor blog. Danielle Gray is the guru of all things beauty and fashion. The video tutorials on Youtube are so helpful. It can assist even the trendiest beauty blogger to the everyday woman (me). This is the 2nd Secret Beauty event that I have attended. Read about my first experience here.
It was a hot summer afternoon on a Saturday. I was looking forward to attending the event, networking with other bloggers and maybe even taking a photograph with Danielle Gray. My attire was casual, comfortable and functional. I wore a black tank calf-length midi dress, flat sandals, and simple hoop earrings. Clicked the Uber app and was on my way to the city. The event was being held on Prince Street at SpaceNK Apothecary London.
SpaceNK Apothecary is nestled in a white corner storefront in Manhattan. Upon entering I was immediately greeted with a chilled glass of champagne and sweet treats. There were approximately 40 people in the store and a sea of beauty products to sample. Skincare products have been my main focus for the past few months. After perusing the other displays of make-up and haircare; I headed to the skincare section.
Skincare display was filled with cleaning washes to eye creams. The products that I was most interested in trying is the Chantecaille Nano Gold Energizing Face Cream and the Nano Gold Energizing Eye Cream. Also the Kat Burki Vitamin C Nourishing Cleansing Balm. The reviews will be forthcoming.
Women of all nationalities attended the event. Questions in relation to beauty and skincare were happily received by Danielle. Her vast knowledge of beauty and skin care topics are substantial; suggesting specific products that would be best for your skin type. She was engaging, charming and despite the school of women waiting in line to grab a tidbit of her knowledge.
I finally got a chance to speak to Danielle towards the end of the event. Even though our conversation was not beauty based; it was certainly a pleasure to converse with her. I always have a keen eye when her newsletter hit my inbox. There may be another secret beauty event to attend. Schedule permitting; I will be in attendance.

Product Review: Frownies Repairing Full Facial Mask
There is a saying that “black don’t crack.” Part of that is true. Black will crack when the body is not properly maintained. The skin is one of the largest and probably the most sensitive part of the body. It is susceptible to aging and disease if not properly maintained. Adopting a good skincare regimen is essential. I have adopted a good skincare routine that works well for me. It involves facial masks twice a week. I have sensitive skin which means I have to be very careful with the products that I use.
